IPL Photo Rejuvenation

Reboost your skin with IPL skin rejuvenation treatments

Functional and affordable, IPL is a highly effective way to treat pigmentation and redness on the face, neck, chest, hands and other areas of the body.

A skin treatment breakthrough

M22 IPL technology is a treatment breakthrough to correct a variety of skin conditions including signs of photo-ageing, pigmentation and vascular lesions. The treatment is safe, non-invasive with no interruption to your busy lifestyle.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and involves quick and powerful flashes of light penetrating the skin’s surface, where melanin exists.

Frequently asked questions

HOW DOES IPL WORK?

IPL works by emitting a range of lightwaves that break down the vessel walls of the haemoglobin, causing them to fragment and be reabsorbed by the body, meaning any discoloured blotches in the face, neck, chest or hands will become much less visible.

WHAT DOES IPL TREAT?

Although a slightly more intensive process than Excel V, IPL covers a greater surface area all at once so is better for overall rejuvenation. This procedure reduces redness, and blotchy brown areas at the same time as stimulating collagen production and brightening skin.

IS IPL SAFE?

When it comes to IPL it pays to know you’re in good hands. Total Body Concept uses world-leading technology from Lumenis M22 which is a safe, non-invasive solution with little interruption to your busy lifestyle. Get in touch with one of our specialised IPL/Laser therapists and let them customise a treatment according to your skin type and desired results with maximum safety.

RECOMMENDED COURSE OF ACTION

A course of treatments is recommended for excellent long-term results.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT

The IPL process starts by applying a cold gel to the area to be treated, and appropriate eye protection will be provided. The smooth crystal surface of the IPL hand piece is gently placed for each pulse of IPL. You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band, but people often report the first treatment to be the ‘zingiest’, with following treatments less invasive.

AFTER TREATMENT CARE

No actives (including Retinol, Aha’s, Vitamin C) should be applied to the skin for seven days following the treatment. Also avoid applying oils to the skin for 24 – 48 hours. Apply SPF protection everyday, and you may apply aloe vera to soothe the skin. Avoid peels and microdermabrasion for two weeks, and no Laser in the same area for four weeks following a treatment.
