Rejuvenate skin, support collagen regeneration and improve the appearance of scars.
Skin Needling can really accelerate the skin’s own regeneration of collagen and elastin through a natural healing process. Designed to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, and give a plump and firm overall more youthful and glowing appearance, skin needling quickly becomes a favourite treatment for those who try it.
Skin needling is the ultimate form of skin rejuvenation, and has less downtime compared to some laser treatments. It is suited to anyone who is concerned with fine lines and wrinkles; poor skin texture; acne or surgical scars.
Skin Needling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that helps to support the skin’s regeneration of collagen and elastin through a natural healing process. Ultra fine, medical grade stainless needles are passed vertically across the skin creating multiple surface skin channels. This treatment is designed to support skin regeneration to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, plump and firm giving an overall more youthful and glowing appearance. Skin needling can also support the healing of acne scars and improve the appearance of stretch marks and surgical scars.
Each of the thousands of tiny puncture wounds induces the release of growth factors that begin the process of wound healing. These factors stimulate new collagen and elastin growth in the surrounding skin. New collagen and elastin production is the goal of all skin resurfacing and rejuvenation treatments.
Once initiated, new collagen production can continue for up to 12 months, resulting in an improvement in skin firmness and texture and a softening and lifting of scars and wrinkles.
Skin needling is the ultimate form of skin rejuvenation. It has been clinically tested to refine skin texture, reduces appearance of acne scarring and stretch marks.
Less downtime compared to Laser and some peels.
The skin needling system is refined enough for use around all facial contours including delicate areas such as under the eyelids.
Excellent for most skin types, compatible with all Fitzpatrick skin classifications.
We use the Dermapen® 4, the gold standard in dermal needling.
The Dermapen® microneedling pen provides an unparalleled response via the fractional delivery of micro needles, creating micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis. This is how micro needling works, by creating these micro-injuries to the skin encourage and harness the power of the body’s innate ability to repair the skin through the normal physiology of skin.
Utilising the best needle cartridge innovation to be seen yet, Dermapen 4 glides better, and performs better thanks to the vertical microneedling which means no long circular motions.
The needling system is delicate enough that it can even treat those sensitive spots like under the eyes, meaning no contours of the face miss out. The Dermapen also offers adjustable needle length and speed allowing your highly trained technician to develop a specialised program to suit you specifically.
The first phase begins with the release of the body’s growth factors and the further cascade of new epidermal growth, fibroblast chemotaxis, fibroblast proliferation and matrix production. This proliferation of the body’s tissue continues to release growth factors from fibroblasts, keratinocytes and monocytes.
The second phase of wound healing involves deposition of collagen III, IV and I, elastin, proteoglycans, and GAGs.
The last phase results in tissue remodeling where the skin’s vascular matrix matures and skin tightening. The body’s ability to heal itself is at the heart of this amazing process.
In order to have this treatment your skin will be assessed by one of our skin specialists to determine the best treatment course. Once you are fully aware of all the treatment requirements and post treatment care we will then proceed with the skin needling treatment.
Starting on the forehead and applying an individually tailored Genosys Power Solution, working our way around the face including the neck too.
Ultra fine, medical grade stainless steel needles are passed vertically across the skin creating multiple surface skin channels. Each of the thousands of tiny puncture wounds induces the release of growth factors that begin the process of wound healing. These factors stimulate new collagen and elastin growth in the surrounding skin which, once initiated, can continue for up to 12 months.
We finish the procedure with saline solution and apply Genosys Soothing Repair Postcream. Your skin will look red and feel warm directly after the treatment and this will subside after a couple of hours with the redness reducing gradually over 4-5 days.
This depends on what you are treating and how often you perform treatments. Most patients will see progress within a few days and the process of skin improvement can continue for months after treatments.
The process of skin remodeling can go on for months after each Dermapen treatment. Results can be seen within a week or even a few days.
Post Skin Needling you can expect to see varying degrees of redness, puffiness, peeling, flaking, weeping or oozing. For the first 12 hours it is important to treat your skin like a baby’s skin while it is still open and vulnerable. A minimum of SPF 30 can be worn the following day and sun exposure is not recommended for 1 week post the procedure. After a week your skin will be feeling back to normal again with a brighter and smoother complexion.
Avoid SPF for 12 hours directly post procedure, as well as no activities including AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinol (Vitamin A) and Vitamin C. No manual exfoliation, peels or microdermabrasion for two weeks.
