The M22 ResurFX is a fibre laser and the only true fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing technology. It uses a very advanced CoolScan scanner for non-sequential scanning and continuous cooling for safety and protection of the skin.
The CoolScan scanner delivers up to 500 fractional spots per square centimetre into the treatment area. This creates up to 500 microscopic thermal wounds each surrounded by untreated tissue. The untreated tissue acts as a barrier to infection and as a reservoir for rapid wound-healing of the treated tissue. The stratum corneum (outermost layer of the epidermis) remains intact so barrier function is maintained.
Before your treatment commences your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied to the area. Once the numbing has been removed your treatment will commence. Clients describe a warm tingling sensation with each shot of the laser. Aloe vera and SPF 30+ will be applied to your skin after the treatment.
The treatment works to stimulate deep collagen regeneration over a sequence of treatments Approximately three sessions are required to achieve visible improvement in skin texture and fine lines. Optimal results are achieved after three – five sessions in four – five week intervals.
Immediately following your treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling. The swelling will diminish after a few hours and the redness as quickly as the next day or over the next few days.
The treatment result will become apparent over the following four to five weeks.
No actives (including Retinol, Aha’s, Vitamin C) should be applied to the skin for seven days following the treatment.Also avoid applying oils to the skin for 24 – 48 hours. Apply SPF protection everyday, and you may apply aloe vera to soothe the skin. Avoid peels and microdermabrasion for two weeks, and no IPL or Laser in the same area for four weeks following a treatment.
